This was Open Charity's first unconference.

The theme was all things digital charity with a focus on openness; ideas, challenges, solutions, technology and the horizon.

Open Charity May Meetup

The May 18th Open Charity Meetup looked at two quite different uses and implementations of open source in the charity sector. We had a great turnout and some excellent discussion afterwards, with lots of helpful input from the community on other topics we might want to cover at future events.

For those who couldn’t make it, here’s a summary of the talks.

A bit of history

Open Charity began as a conversation between several digital types from some of the largest charities in the UK, and their suppliers, who were all building websites using Drupal as a common Open Source digital platform and CMS. We wanted to share knowledge and tips about how to improve our sites and solve some of the technical challenges we were facing.
